The American Subcontractors Association of West Michigan is a local branch of the 5,500 member, national organization devoted to promoting and protecting the business interests of subcontractors, suppliers and related service companies. Recently, the West Michigan chapter expanded its reach to span the entire state.

Holding the first 2008-09 monthly General Membership Meeting September 24, the newly aggrandized association has now become a more amplified collective voice for Michigan Subcontractors. “The ASAWM goes to bat for Subcontractors at the local and national level. Having a broader territory will lend us more credibility to legislative and governmental agencies and give us a stronger voice; which is very beneficial during times of economic uncertainty,” said one ASAM member.

The ASAM has established a firm record of growth, with nearly 100 constituents belonging to the organization in just a year and a half. According to the association, the new acquisition of expansion will allow them to provide even greater opportunities for its members to network, attend industry related seminars, receive sound legal advice and tap into extensive educational resources.
